door seen in Rupit (Barcelona)

DOORSHere is my entry for Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge. Thanks Norm for hosting this challenge.

Doors seen in a little town near Barcelona called Rupit. I’ve already post some things about this town. The first one has the owner’s family name up the door.

Interestingly, the painted wooden door has different thicknesses of paint, ranging from more to less as we approach the ground…

The second door is from the same town, but but more recently painted.

Walking in step down the street

Walking in step down the street

street_photo_cmllWalking down the street

Starting today a series of photos devoted mainly to people who wander the cities, people who like to walk or environmentally it moves around town.

It’s a small homage to all who walk to be more agile, stronger and healthier although they are in cities full of cars.

Each monday i’ll publish a photo on this topic.

I know I’m late, but is only a belated contribution to this interesting Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge.

I always liked taking photos of doors that have caught my attention. A door is the face of a housing and, basically think reflects its owner’s face.

I hope you like my selection for this week’s doors. Thanks Norm for hosting this challenge. I hope to participate in the future. Thursday will be alert…

Black Coffee

Black Coffee

When I was younger,
I enjoyed drinking black coffee.

I liked the taste and the smell.
The bitterness but the sweetness of the coffee bean.

I realized later on how much coffee related to life.
There are bitter moments that stay on the pallate and create a lasting and pungent after taste.

But there are really sweet times that last even longer.

Directors welcomed us very kindly and showed us the organizative “secrets” of an event of this nature.

The ambiance of the gallery was very familiar. We were at home.

Large audience at the opening

Naturally all works are for sale in different formats and, as usual, at very reasonable prices.

Large audience attended the inauguration of the exhibition.
The host of the show was a success.

Forces of Nature

Forces of Nature

Water that flows on the Earth’s surface in streams, rivers and seas, is the most powerful natural agent operating on the surface, and changes the face of the Earth.

Waves, generated by storms, wind, or fast moving motor craft, cause coastal erosion, which may take the form of long-term losses of sediment and rocks, or merely the temporary redistribution of coastal sediments; erosion in one location may result in accretion nearby.

In these photos, taken on the island of Mallorca, we see how the water, repeatedly hitting on this rock, will slowly erode its base and and over time will break.

Calendar

Calendar

A calendar is a system of organizing days for social, religious, commercial or administrative purposes. This is done by giving names to periods of time, typically days, weeks, months, and years. A date is the designation of a single, specific day within such a system. Periods in a calendar (such as years and months) are usually, though not necessarily, synchronized with the cycle of the sun or the moon. Many civilizations and societies have devised a calendar, usually derived from other calendars on which they model their systems, suited to their particular needs.

A calendar is also a physical device (often paper). This is the most common usage of the word. Other similar types of calendars can include computerized systems, which can be set to remind the user of upcoming events and appointments. Other calendars have different and original designs. This calendar shown today is one of them.

Seen in CaixaForum. Madrid.
